"Wherever Singh goes, the team wins," says Harbhajan Singh after winning fourth IPL trophy

Harbhajan had won three IPL titles with Mumbai Indians in 2013, 2015 and 2017 previously.

Harbhajan Singh has as many as four Indian Premier League (IPL) titles by his name. The 38-year-old was an integral part of Mumbai Indians' three times IPL winning side (2013, 2015 and 2017). He switched his IPL side to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and added another trophy in his account this year.

Is Harbhajan the key to win IPL trophy? The spinner himself thinks so. "Wherever Singh goes, the team wins," he said. Hope Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise is reading this.

The team CSK which was loaded with 30-year-olds got Harbhajan at a relatively cheap price in the auction. MS Dhoni went for experience in the auction and Harbhajan feels that is what paid off for the team.

In an exclusive interview to IndiaTV, he said, "As I told you earlier wherever Singh goes the team wins. Last time, I was in Mumbai where we became champions and now this time with Chennai."

The Punjab cricketer rated experienced 35+ players over the youngsters even in the shorter format. "I am very happy the way CSK performed as earlier we were criticised for being a team of above 30+ players. People were questioning our fitness but in the end, we proved that a 35+ player can be more dangerous than a young 18-year-old cricketer as he has more experience. The quality experience in the Chennai squad was the reason for our success and every cricketer played his role superbly."

Harbhajan points out two common things which he shares with the CSK skipper Dhoni. "Dhoni is extremely lucky as tosses are very important for the match and he won the main tosses. The common thing about us is that we both are July born and we played a lot of cricket together. It's wonderful to play alongside him and this IPL was special for all the fans who were waiting for CSK to make a comeback in the competition," Harbhajan concluded.
