Before the start of the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), the one franchise that suffered the biggest setback was Sunrisers Hyderabad. The officially appointed captain of SRH, David Warner, got involved in the disgraceful ball-tampering scandal that saw him copping one-year termination from Cricket Australia and a suspension from BCCI in IPL 2018.

Following Warner’s ban, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was shouldered with the responsibility to lead SRH and he has done a commendable job for the 2016 IPL champions. Sunrisers finished the IPL 2018 campaign as runners-up and were the table-toppers after the league phase, having won 9 out of their 14 games.

Besides leading the team from the front, Williamson had a stellar campaign with the willow, scoring 735 runs from 17 innings, including 8 fifties. He finished the season as the highest run-getter and bagged the Orange Cap.

Considering Williamson’s prowess as a leader and as a batsman, cricket fans and experts were singing praises of him during the cash-rich event. In a video posted by Sunrisers Hyderabad on their official Youtube channel, Williamson can be seen wittily replying to the mean tweets sent to him.

Here are the tweets:

“What our skipper is carrying Everytime in that white bag?”

“The bowling lineup of SRH is too strong that if we give them 50 runs to defend we can expect that they will defend it successfully?”

“Before breaking the beard, the Captain looked like Santa Claus. Although it’s not winters but cud we expect the trophy s this year’s Christmas gift #SantaWilliamson?”

“If #OrangeArmy captain is Kane so does that make his brother Undertaker?”
