IPL 2018: We only have few good men like Dinesh Karthik, says Shah Rukh Khan

Dinesh Karthik has always come across as one of the nicest cricketers.

Dinesh Karthik is one of the nicest cricketers that one would see in Indian Cricket. They often lose out to the, well... let's just say, "more interesting" guys but good things eventually happen to good people. Dinesh Karthik is one of them. He has always come across as a modest, ever smiling and hardworking cricketer.

No wonder Dinesh has actually enjoyed the best phase of his career with the bat and the glove recently. It is the foundation on which one of the most successful Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, decided to build their team around. That's why they appointed him the captain.

Dinesh did a magnificent job for his team, with the bat and the gloves while evolving very well as a captain throughout the season. He took the team into the second qualifier, which nobody gave them a chance to be competing at the start of the season.

Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood actor and the co-owner of the franchise, is mighty impressed with how Dinesh carried himself throughout the long campaign. Yesterday on his birthday, Dinesh got messages not only from around the cricketing world but also received a special one from Khan himself. Shahrukh took to Twitter to wish his team's captain on the occasion.

He tweeted, "Wishing my Captain @DineshKarthik the happiest of Birthday. Not because it is customary to do so, but because nobody else deserves it more. We have such Few Good Men left...so need to celebrate them. Love u man. Be healthy & happy"

Dinesh was actually busy playing a charity match on his birthday in London. He was playing for the ICC World XI against the West Indies at Lord's, a match arranged to gather financial support for the grounds hit hard by the hurricanes in the Carribean recently. It sumps him up as a person. Happy Birthday, Karthik.
