Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Ajinkya Rahane has expressed his gratitude on Friday (31 May) towards the franchise management, teammates and fans for supporting throughout the recently concluded 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.

Returning to the IPL fold after a gap of 2-years, Royals were looking to make an impact in the IPL 2018, but they earlier received a serious setback of losing their Captain Steve Smith, who was banned from participation for his involvement in the ball-tampering controversy in South Africa.

Rahane was given the responsibility to lead the Jaipur-based outfit in the IPL 2018 in the absence of Smith, though he has done a quite well job for RR, led them to the playoffs.

The major shock was that their international players including Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat failed to deliver in the tournament.

At the start of the IPL 2018, Royals badly struggled to find a win but later made a strong comeback into the tournament special thanks to Jos Buttler and reach the playoffs of the tournament, but failed to reach the qualifier beaten by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Meanwhile, Rahane said though Royals finished as the top four in the IPL 2018, they will strong come back next season of the T20 event.

His post on Twitter reads, “I take this opportunity to thank all the @rajasthanroyals fans who stood by us this IPL. We assure you that we will push harder in the next season. A special thanks to the Management, support staff and my teammates for supporting me on this journey.”
