Young Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan had a poor outing in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The 20-year-old right-hander, who was one of the cricketers retained by the franchise for IPL 2018 for ₹1.75 crore, but he couldn’t do justice to his retention, played only seven matches for RCB this season and finished with only 51 runs at an average of 10.20.

Meanwhile, most of his IPL colleagues will represent India A in England in July, Sarfaraz has decided to work on his fitness at the BKC indoor nets till the next domestic season later this year.

Sarfaraz told Sportstar, “Injuries can be real bad. There can be ups and downs. The RCB physio and my doctors had prepared a training chart for my lower body and I want to work on that to come out stronger.”

Commenting on his brilliant inning of an unbeaten 22 off eight balls in the crucial game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh lad said, “That inning was a positive sign. Virat bhai was happy that I performed when the team needed me.”

Sarfaraz is also upset with the news of the retirement of AB de Villiers, saying he wanted to learn the art of playing knuckleball from him, as it is yet to confirm whether he will play IPL in future or not.

He signed off by saying, “I used to learn so much from his shots. We all are feeling bad that he announced retirement. I wanted to learn the art of playing knuckleball from him.”
