The Indian Premier League 2018 came to a successful end with Chennai Super Kings winning their third IPL title. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by 8 wickets on Sunday (May 27).

Though the team with the most players over 30 won the tournament, the younger lot of the tournament was the ones who took the challenge by the scruff of its neck and etched their names with golden letters.

The uncapped Indian players had a gala time and we have shortlisted a few to form a formidable playing XI, which can take on the best of the best from the tournament.

The opening combination of this uncapped Indian XI of the IPL 2018 will be Prithvi Shaw of Delhi Daredevils and Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians. Shaw scored 245 runs in 9 matches with 2 half centuries, with the best of 65 and strike rate of 153.12. He was responsible for replacing Gautam Gambhir at the top effectively.

MI opening with Suryakumar Yadav was a masterstroke by captain Rohit Sharma and it resulted in him scoring 512 runs in 14 matches with 4 fifties and a best of 72 and strike rate of 133.33. He gave MI consistently quick starts and even went on to play long innings, giving others the chance to play around them.

At no.3 comes Ishan Kishan from MI, who will also keep wickets. Kishan scored 275 runs in 14 matches with the highest score of 62 and strike rate of 149.45. He was also effective behind the stumps, despite suffering an injury to his eye.

Nitish Rana from KKR will come in at no.4 with 304 runs behind him in the tournament with a strike rate of 131.03 and a best of 59. Shubman Gill, one of the stars of the U19 World Cup, showed his mettle in the T20 format, with 203 runs in 13 matches with best of 57* and strike rate of 146.04.

This forms a formidable middle order for the uncapped Indian XI, which has the powerful hitting power of Kishan, along with guile and skills of Rana and Gill. All the three youngsters are fully capable of playing the T20 form of blasting cricket, along with the delicate rotating of the strike kind of cricket.

The team will be captained by MI’s Krunal Pandya, who scored 228 runs at a strike rate of 145.22 and took 12 wickets with a best of 3/28 this season. He was effective with both bat and ball for the team and controlled the ball brilliantly. He leads the Baroda T20 team and his captaincy experience will come handy for the team.

K Gowtham is the other spinning all-rounder in the team along with Krunal and had a wonderful IPL with 11 wickets and 126 runs to his name with a strike rate of 196.87, including two match-winning knocks for the team.

Mayank Markande left a big mark on the IPL tournament with his performance in the first half for MI. He picked 15 wickets in 14 matches with best of 4/23 at an economy of 8.36. He was a surprise performer for the team that had let go their most experienced spinner in the auction.

The fast bowling duties will be shared by Ankit Rajpoot (11 wickets with best of 5/14), Siddarth Kaul (21 wickets with best of 3/28) and M Prasidh Krishna (10 wickets with best of 4/30).

Ankit Rajpoot proved to the trump card for the KXIP team as he bowled with pace and seamed the ball around and picked the only 5 wicket haul of the tournament.

Siddarth Kaul continued to have a very good IPL tournament, continuing his good work for SRH from last season, picking 21 wickets at just 8.38 economy.

Deepak Chahar as amazing for CSK int he power plays. MS Dhoni was wily in using him in the power plays, utilizing his ability to swing the ball at high pace and Chahar rarely dissapointed his captain with his performances.

He picked 10 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 7.28 and a best of 3/15.
