Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a one-sided IPL 2018 final on Sunday (May 27) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to lift their third IPL title.
CSK chased down the target of 179 with ease, thanks to 117* from Shane Watson. MS Dhoni led his troops brilliantly despite a formidable SRH doing their best in the all important final match. His leadership was top notch during the whole tournament, right from the first match at the same venue, when Dwayne Bravo engineered the great escape against MI.
MS Dhoni himself had a great tournament with the bat and scored 455 runs in 16 matches with a best of 79* and strike rate of 150.66. He led from the front and even has some of the newest tricks up his sleeve, as sending Harbhajan Singh and Deepak Chahar before specialist batsmen to counter seam and swing of KXIP bowlers in one of the league matches.
