Chennai Super Kings clinched their third Indian Premier League title and first since 2011 after they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Chennai Super Kings after winning the toss and opting to field first, restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 178/6 and chased down the target in the 19th over. Opener Shane Watson scored brilliant 117* runs off just 57 balls.

2 - Shane Watson became the second player to score a hundred in the final match of IPL after Wriddhiman Saha (115* against KKR in 2014).

3 - This is the Chennai Super Kings' third IPL title and they have equaled Mumbai Indians' record of most IPL titles (3).

4 - Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in all the four matches this season and this was the first instance when a team defeated the same opponent four times in a single season of IPL.
