Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings made a triumphant comeback into the Indian Premier League fold after a two-year suspension by making it into the finals of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings fought Sunrisers Hyderabad for the fourth time in this IPL 2018 and after SRH put up 178 runs on the board, Shane Watson’s 117* in 57 runs made the final a one-sided affair and helped CSK lift the IPL title for the third time.

MS Dhoni became the second captain in IPL history to win the IPL trophy for the 3rd time and he knew that he had achieved something that CSK desperately needed to show the world that you cannot count them out.

Here is what captain incredible MS Dhoni said during the presentation ceremony:

"Every win is special, so it’s not about comparing."

"By the time you reach the finals, everybody knows their roles and responsibilities, so you don't have to say too much. We talk a lot about age but what matters more is physical fitness... if you ask most captains, they will want people who move well on the field, We are going to Chennai tomorrow. That was the plan irrespective of the result – to go and meet the fans and people who are close to the franchise."

He continued, "We talk a lot about age but what matters more is physical fitness... if you ask most captains, they will want people who move well on the field. "

"Every win is special, so difficult to pick any one win. Lot of people talk about numbers, statistics, so tonight's 27th, my jersey number is 7, and this was our seventh final."
