Rashid Khan, the 19-year-old leg spinner from the war-torn Afghanistan has become a huge ambassador for the game of cricket. Rashid has made huge waves in cricket for both his country in international cricket and in the T20 leagues all over the world.

Currently, rendering his services to Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018, Rashid single-handedly took SRH into the finals of the tournament, defeating KKR in Qualifier 2. Rashid scored 34* off 10 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours to take SRH to 174. When it came to showing the magic with the ball, Rashid didn’t disappoint and picked 3/19 in four overs.

His performance helped SRH win the match against KKR by 14 runs.

He earned praise from all quarters, even Sachin Tendulkar called him the ‘best T20 spinner’. Indian fans went crazy on social media and tweeted to Union Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj to grant Indian citizenship to Rashid Khan. Swaraj wittily asked them to contact the ministry of home affairs with their requests.

Now, Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani too joined the clamor on social media and refused to part ways with the magic leg-spinner.

Ghani tweeted, “Afghans take absolute pride in our hero, Rashid Khan. I am also thankful to our Indian friends for giving our players a platform to show their skills

Rashid reminds us whats best about Afg. He remains an asset to the cricketing world. No, we are not giving him away,” he said.
