After the second qualifier between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Sourav Ganguly expressed happiness on Twitter, as the stadium was voted the best venue in IPL 2018.

SRH defeated KKR by 13 runs and progressed to the final of the tournament. The Eden Gardens was picked to host Eliminator and Qualifier 2. The venue won the award of the best ground of IPL 2018.

Eden Gardens is a historic ground which has hosted many big games including the 1987 World Cup final and semi-final of 1996 World Cup between India and Sri Lanka.

Former India captain Ganguly was appointed as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal in 2015 after the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya. He was appointed as the role of joint secretary of the CAB from July 2014.
