Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Faf du Plessis turned out to be the life jacket for his team and saved them from drowning at the crucial time against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first qualifier of IPL 2018.

Wickets were falling from the other end, but Faf didn't falter and kept Chennai fans' hopes alive in the game by playing a gem of an innings.He scored 67 not out and finished the game with a six. Chasing a low target of 140, CSK were 92/7 at one stage.

But Du Plessis, playing a smart innings, targetted the right bowlers and changed the momentum of the game with his brave innings.

After the game, Dwayne Bravo had a chat with his teammates and asked him few questions from the thrilling chase. Faf said it was a similar game to one which Bravo had won for them against Mumbai Indians in the first match of this year's IPL. 

The South Africa captain added that in these types of chase you need to give yourself maximum chance by playing till the end and things will start happening.

Faf flipped the game in last three overs with the help of tailenders whose contributions were also vital considering the lethal SRH bowling who could have rattled them in no time. However, the cricketer showed confident in them and rotated strike whenever needed.
