In the first qualifier game between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, there were many moments in the game which grabbed the eyeballs of the spectators.

One of them was when CSK  seamer Deepak Char bowled an awkward delivery which missed the 22 yards and landed into MS Dhoni's gloves on one bounce.

Shakib Al Hasan who was facing that particular Deepak Chahar was amazed to see the on-field umpire not ruling it a no ball or a wide ball.

The ball was full and above the batsman’s waist. It also veering outside leg which meant that the delivery was a very good candidate for no-ball or wide. Instead, umpire Marais Erasmus declared it dead.

Even the commentators were amused to see that the umpires gave no reaction to that particular delivery. Simon Doull, himself a former Test bowler for New Zealand said, “I don’t think you can get away with that Sunny (Sunil Gavaskar), that’s no-ball.” Sunil Gavaskar, who was Doull’s co-commentator said that instances like this show that bowlers are lucky and can get away with deliveries like those. Shakib Al Hasan, who was the man with the bat, seemed to be equally miffed as to how that did not become an extra in his team’s favour.

Sunrisers went onto lose the match at the end as CSK booked their berth in the finals for the seventh time in IPL history.

Here is the video of Deepak Chahar's surprising delivery.
