Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had another poor season in the ongoing 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, and their star batsman AB de Villiers has apologized for disappointing their fans again.

In IPL 2018, RCB managed to win just 6 of their 14 matches and finished sixth with 12 points in their kitty. It was the second time when Bangalore failed to qualify for the playoffs in a row, as well as, reached the final of the IPL three times but never won a single IPL title.

Meanwhile, South African star de Villiers and Kohli were the only who have performed but their middle-order failed to step up with the bat that cost them the most in the IPL 2018. The right-hander has scored 480 runs in his 12 outings for the RCB at the stunning strike rate of 174.54 in the IPL 2018.

On Tuesday (22 May), de Villiers went on his official social media handle to share a video to thank all RCB supporters for supporting them throughout the 2018 season.

In a video, AB can be seen saying, “Thanks to all the RCB fans in Bangalore, in all of India and around the world for supporting us throughout the 2018 season. You guys always right behind us and carried us a long way. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing season for us and I am sorry for that.”

He signed off by saying, “We promise to come back stronger next year. We have got a fantastic squad. Even though we didn't play well, it was the most enjoyable IPL I've had. So I have a really good feeling we come back stronger next season. Enjoy the knockouts of the IPL, unfortunately, we won't be there. It's an exciting finish to the tournament; let's see who comes out as champions.”
