Harsha Bhogle, the famous cricket commentator, has come out and stated that the Women's T20 Challenge game taking place before the first qualifier of the ongoing Indian Premier League season should be the cornerstone towards the making of women's version of the league.

The Women's international game is flourishing better than ever before. The interest from the cricket loving audiences is growing every day and it enjoys a better financial windfall than ever. The skillset of players as well has gone through the roof with the only sky being the limit.

In India, especially since the Indian team made the ICC Cricket World Cup final in England last year under the leadership of Mithali Raj and able guidance of Jhulan Goswami, there has been huge calls from various corners for BCCI to organize a women's version of the league that has done immense betterment of the men's game in the country. The Revolution can also happen in the Indian women's game.

A voice as important as Harsha Bhogle's, echoing the sentiment really helps. Harsha took to the social media network Twitter to express his wish.

He tweeted, "I have no doubt that the time is right for the start of a women's IPL. 4 teams seems right for now, maybe 5 with a slightly higher foreign player component to begin with"

Harsha further specified how it would be better if the existing IPL franchises also purchase the women's teams and promote the other version of the league.

He posted, "Ideally, existing franchises should bid for the available slots. An #RCB or #MI (names purely for illustration!!!) women's team would benefit greatly from established franchise support"
