Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni took to Instagram to thank fans in Pune for their support to him and the team in the ongoing IPL season. CSK could play only one game in Chennai and the rest of their home matches had to be shifted to Pune after the Cauvery water dispute became a major rage in the state. CSK management arranged special trains from Chennai to Pune to ensure the team feels at home.
Pune is also like a second home to Dhoni as he played for Rising Pune Supergiant for the two seasons when CSK were suspended after the spot-fixing scandal hit the franchise. Dhoni also lead the side in their first season.
Dhoni returned to his original franchise Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and the team finished second on the points table in the league phase, just behind SunRisers Hyderabad on net run-rate. The top two teams will take on each other in the first qualifier on Tuesday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Dhoni's Instagram post was special not just because of his message for the fans, but also because he was seen with his daughter Ziva, as she joined him while walking back to the dressing room after the post match presentation.
