Rajasthan Royals got through to the playoffs of the 2018 IPL season after Mumbai Indians were crashed out of the tournament. Mumbai failed to chase 175 as they fell short by 11 runs to finish on 163. 

For Rajasthan to qualify for the playoffs Mumbai Indians had to lose this match and that's exactly what happened. Much to the joy and ecstasy of the Rajasthan players, Mumbai's loss took Rajasthan off to the playoffs. 

Rajasthan won key games against CSK and RCB to pave their way to the playoffs which they did comfortably. 

After Mumbai's loss in the first match, RR needed CSK to win their game against KXIP. Once that happened, it ensured that the Royals made it to the playoffs in their comeback year after being relegated for 2 years due to the match-fixing scandal.  Rajasthan now face KKR  in the eliminator on May 23. in Kolkata. 

Going into the knockouts, RR will be without their key men in Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler who are back in England for national duties. Buttler scored 548 runs from 13 games including five 50 plus scores.
