Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)'s famous slogan 'Ee sala Cup namde’, which means ‘This year the cup is ours’ in Kannada has gone against them this season.

They couldn't make it to the playoffs after facing a defeat against Rajasthan Royals by 30 runs and Karnataka players playing for the different franchise couldn't stop mocking them.

We saw Karun Nair and KL Rahul taking a dig at RCB earlier this season. This time it was the Karnataka cricketers playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who made fun of RCB.

KKR qualified to playoffs after adding two points against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Robin Uthappa and Prasidh Krishna both shined in Kolkata's victory. While Uthappa scored a 45 off 34 balls, Prasidh scalped 4 wickets to restrict Hyderabad on 172 for 9. SRH lost 4 wickets in last over which was bowled by him.

After the match, both the cricketers urged the viewers in their home state to support their side, since Bangalore are already knocked out of the competition.

“Team support is important for us,” said Prasidh. “Now that RCB is not in the playoffs, make sure you’ll support us. There are a lot of Karnataka boys in our team also, so we’ll win it for you.”

Uthappa responded with, “Ee sala Cup namde” to which Prasidh added a “definitely”.
