When he was purchased by Rajasthan Royals, Shreyas Gopal wasn't thought to be the guy who would bowl one of the decisive spells of the season for his team. But he has, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore protecting 165 in the must-win encounter last night yesterday, Shreyas Gopal pulled off a magnificent spell of 4-0-16-4 and won his side the game.

The youngster got the big wicket of AB de Villiers that helped his team get back into the game and eventually win the game by 30 runs.

He talked about his performance and the game, having won the man of the match trophy and said, "You can never have a set plan for someone like ABD. So, I was a bit shocked. There was a little bit of help from the wicket. There was a little bit of spin. I kept it at the wickets and relied on my googly and flipper as much as I could,"

He further added, "Obviously feels great. We knew this game was a pressure game for us. Actually both the teams. It feels even better that the team needed me and I performed. I would not have been feeling half as better had the team lost. We are like brothers now (when asked about Ish Sodhi). I keep picking his brains. He is wonderful with the way he puts in an effort with every ball that he bowls. There are a lot of things that I can learn from him,"

The Karnataka lad Shreyas has always been a bright prospect, this performance you would hope helps him turn things completely around and climb up the ladder.
