Tim Southee was reprimanded after RCB's victory against Sunrisers in Match 51 of the IPL 2018 after the latter had was seemingly displeased after the television umpires turned down his catch in an attempt to dismiss SRH opener Alex Hales.

The fifth ball off the third over witnessed Alex Hales hoicking one towards deep square leg where Southee was positioned. He came charging in before swooping low to take the catch. Although the soft signal given by the on-field umpires was out, the third umpire didn't find conclusive evidence on the replays to reinstate the decision.

The New Zealander admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction, a BCCI media release stated early on Friday morning.

Hales was eventually dismissed on 37 by his fellow England teammate Moeen Ali as AB de Villiers took a blinder at the square leg boundary.

Virat Kohli looked quite animated after Hales was initially given not out. His facial expressions were that of sheer shock and awe when De Villiers took that impossible catch to dismiss Hales, one which proved to be a key dismissal as that brought RCB into the match big time.

RCB now stands at 12 points from 13 games and play their last league match against Rajasthan Royals in an eventual knockout match. The winner of that match will head off to the playoffs while the IPL campaign will come to an end for the loser.
