Having grabbed the attention of the cricketing fraternity with his classy strokeplay, Rajasthan Royals batsman Sanju Samson exhibited his remarkable fielding prowess on Sunday (May 13) against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.

During the 20th over of Mumbai’s innings, Samson plucked a one-handed stunner to get rid of Hardik Pandya. It was a full delivery from Ben Stokes and Pandya whipped it with plenty of bottom hand towards the deep mid-wicket region. As the ball seemed a bit out of reach, Samson ran across his right and put in the full-length dive to grab it with one hand.

All the Rajasthan players in the ground and in the dug-out were in awe of this stupendous take by Samson. In fact, Hardik was in utter disbelief before he eventually made his way to the pavilion. Pandya made 36 runs off 21 balls as Mumbai Indians set a target of 169 for RR.

Here’s the video of Sanju Samson’s stunning catch:

Chasing the stiff target, Royals rode on Jos Buttler jaw-dropping 53-ball 94* to register a comprehensive seven-wicket victory with two overs to spare. It was Rajasthan’s third consecutive win in this year’s IPL and they are now placed at fifth spot on the points table with 6 wins from 12 matches.
