MS Dhoni's inputs have helped a lot of rising stars in India. He can be spotted talking with the youngsters and even opponents after the match. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper loves sharing his experience with the rookies and which is a major role of a veteran.

Dhoni is considered as one of the factors which have made the CSK side one of the most consistent franchises in IPL. They have managed to find a place in the top 4 every time in all 8 seasons they played previously. Chennai are looking good to do it one more time this season and CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan thinks it is all because of Dhoni.

“Chennai Super Kings are blessed to have Dhoni, one of the greatest captains India has ever produced, in the side. He manages to get the best out of the players. The way how he is able to marshal the talent is brilliant,” Viswanathan said.

Adding more about the consistency of the team, he said, “If you look at Chennai Super Kings right from season one, the team is committed to doing well. The side is concentrating on putting in great performances in the field and is showing tremendous commitment. It is a total team effort.” The CSK skipper has led them to a couple of IPL triumphs as well.

Chennai returned to IPL after 2 years of suspension. They were excited to play in front of the home crowd but a protests in Chennai due to Cauvery water issue during their game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium led to shifting their home games to Pune.

Viswanathan said the logistics in shifting the venue to Pune was a challenge and the disappointment of the fans was bitter. “We moved to Pune where we have had success in the past. There was massive disappointment among the fans but it was a situation where we did not have control. It was a big logistical and emotional challenge but we got it done,” he said.

They, however, tried their best to make it easy for the fans to attend the games at Pune in huge number.  Following the shift, the CSK management organized the ‘Whistle Podu’ Express, where thousands of fans would head to Pune in a special train.

“We decided to do some things for the fans who were disappointed that the games were shifted out of Chepauk. We have done some things to satisfy our passionate supporters. However, the disappointment will never fully go away,” Viswanathan said.
