IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevils wins millions of hearts by pledging to donate their organs

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Daredevils (DD) has joined their official media Healthcare partner Fortis Healthcare to pledge to donate their organs in a bid to raise awareness about the cause of Cadaver Organ Donation on Wednesday (9 May).

On the occasion, Gautam Gambhir, Mohammad Shami and Prithvi Shaw who are among them who were present there, and even former DD skipper have already pledged to donate his organs.

While the other personalities are Dr. Avnish Seth, Director, Fortis Organ Retrieval and Transplant (FORT), Dr. Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Behavioural Sciences and Mental Health, Fortis Memorial Research Institute and Col. Harinder Chehal, COO - NCR Region, Fortis Healthcare.

As per reports in IANS, Gambhir said, “I want to request everyone to become an organ donor. I myself am an organ donor. The ability to help someone live a better life there is no better feeling than this.”

Gambhir further added, “Organ donation reflects humanity's capability to give another life after we have lived our own. It is an initiative which is very close to my heart and I urge everyone to become an organ donor. I am happy to be a part of Fortis 'More to Give' initiative.”

Noteworthy, DD has been terribly struggling in the ongoing 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 and are sitting at the 8th spot in the IPL 2018 points table.

Now, the Daredevils will lock horns against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next IPL 2018 encounter on Thursday (10 May) at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
