Shikhar Dhawan hasn't really made the impact so far, that SRH were hoping for.

Tom Moody, the head coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, has made it clear that Shikhar Dhawan is one of the most crucial names on the team sheet for his team and that SRH isn't too perturbed by the indifferent form Dhawan has shown this Indian Premier League season.

Shikhar Dhawan came into this IPL season in stellar form, having scored over 300 runs including a Johannesburg hundred in the ODI series in South Africa and playing the key role in early part of India's Nidahas Trophy campaign in Srilanka. He started off the IPL well but unfortunately got hit in his hands and missed games due to an injury before returning without his form.

Tom Moody, Shikhar's head coach at SRH, though, believes Shikhar is a matchwinner for his team and will come back.

He was quoted saying recently that, “Shikhar came into this tournament in really good form. He showed that in early parts of the tournament (making 78 not out and 45 against Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians). He had a setback with an injury and that has also set back his momentum a little bit"

"He certainly doesn’t look to be a player out of form. So, for me, whether it is tomorrow night or next in Pune, he is going to make an impact. Good players like Shikhar don’t suddenly disappear from the face of the earth. They’ll come back and hurt someone. Maybe tomorrow night it is.”

Tom Moody also said his team has played on not so flat pitches and it has prevented their batsmen from putting up big totals.

Ahead of tonight's encounter between SRH and DD, Colin Munro, the Delhi Daredevils batsman also echoed the sentiment. He said, “Some of the wickets have been a lot drier than they have in IPL in the past. The wicket last night (Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab in Jaipur on Tuesday) started spinning from early on, which in powerplay is unusual,”
