KKR succumbed to their second straight defeat against Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL season as they slide to the fifth position in the points table.
A sedate top order start, followed by a quickfire 21 ball 62 by Ishan Kishan started the Mumbai upsurge towards 200. Rohit Sharma's measured knock of 36 coupled with Ben Cutting 9 ball 24 run cameo triggered MI to 210 at the end of their 20.
Piyush Chawla conceded 25 in one of his overs while Kishan took a special liking on him. Kolkata was lacklustre to stay the least in their gameplan tonight. Plus key misfields and drop catches from KKR fielders helped Mumbai's case in the game.
Chasing 211 for victory, KKR lost the plot early. Narine was dismissed in the very first over. Then a bad mix up between Chris Lynn (21) and Robin Uthappa (14) accounted for the former's wicket. With almost 11 runs per over needed, every KKR batsmen needed to score big which gave Mumbai Indian enough opportunities to pick up wickets and they did so.
Andre Russell who was expected to play a key role in KKR's chase was out for just 5 as KKR folded up for 108 all out giving Mumbai their eighth straight win against KKR as they push themselves to fourth on the points table. Mumbai won the game by 102 runs.
Twitterverse kept their interest in the game and followed it closely. Here are some of the best tweets from the game which was dominated by Mumbai Indians throughout.

Mumbai Indians doing what they do best, turning it around in style. From being number 8 to being in the top 4, this is a remarkable effort from @mipaltan .Just the consistency to do this is amazing. KKR were clueless against Mumbai's intensity. #KKRvMI

There's a term that's often being used in IPL over the years - 'Peaking at the right time.' The determined @mipaltan have once again demonstrated how it's done. Unpredictable turn of events for them. Talking of Cricket, Wore these specially designed cufflings for today ???? #KKRvMI pic.twitter.com/A2ph3J9dTi

Sports is about the spirit & wins/losses don’t reflect that. But tonite as the ‘Boss’ I need to apologise to the fans for the lack of spirit
