Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye displayed fantastic performance with the ball against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an IPL 2018 match on Tuesday though his stunning spell could not save the match for the King XI Punjab (KXIP), lost by 15-runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

On Tuesday (8 May), Tye has picked up four wickets (4-0-34-4), in which three wickets came in the last over, as he played a vital role in bringing KXIP back into the match in the death overs. With his stunning spell against the RR, Tye was honored with the Purple Cap in Jaipur.

However, Tye looked quite emotional during the inning break in Jaipur as he lost his grandmother on Tuesday and he dedicated this performance to her and his family.

During the game, the 31-year-old bowler was seen sporting an armband, in which grandmother was written, and even he became very emotional after he was awarded the Purple Cap following the match in Jaipur.

As per reports in Indian Express, Tye said, “I try not to be too predictable. My Grandma passed away today, so I’d like to dedicate this performance to her and all my family. This has been an emotional match for me. It was a pretty tough day, I always love playing cricket. We are a great bunch of guys here.”

He signed off by saying, “Batsmen are allowed to play good shots, sometimes batsmen hit best balls for six but sometimes they play rash shots too. Pitch is bit slow and low, I think new ball will be crucial for us. I am backing my boys to get to this total.”
