Jos Buttler, the right-hand Rajasthan Royals batsman and their wicketkeeper, has come out and reiterated the importance of the former RR  player and now mentor Shane Warne around the team. Shane Warne was appointed the mentor of the side before the start of the season and due to the poor results, there were questions on his influence for Rajasthan.

Speaking in the post-match press conference yesterday, Buttler said, “Warne has been influential for the whole side. He’s obviously a very forward-thinking and likes aggressive cricket, always taking the positive option. He is a big influence on the leg-spin bowlers. Tactically, it’s fantastic speaking to him.”

Buttler played the key role in his side's 15 run win last night against the Kings XI Punjab by scoring a magnificent 82 from just 58 balls which allowed RR to reach a competitive total of 158.

Buttler talked about the game and also praised Ish Sodhi, whose four overs went for only 14 and he picked a wicket. He said, “We had a fantastic start. We know early wickets in T20s are very crucial. The boys bowled fantastically well. Sodhi bowled a brilliant spell of leg spin bowling. I’m delighted for Ish to bowl with such fantastic control. He looked like he’ll take a wicket every ball. He put a lot of pressure on the opposition,”

He further said, "After the first six overs I thought it was a 180-190 pitch. It sort of changed very quickly and started to slow up. I thought 160-170 was going to be a very good score. All the pitches here have been quite similar,”
