There is barely a prettier sight in world cricket than watching Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers batting in full pomp together. The duo enjoy each other’s company and have a very good mutual understanding while forging a partnership for their IPL franchise – Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli and De Villiers have been batting together since 2011 and have broken quite a few records. The duo have shared two 200-run partnerships in the IPL thus far – most by any batting pair to own such a record in Twenty20 cricket.

Apart from their on-field heroics, Virat and AB often grab the headlines for setting serious friendship goals. On Tuesday (May 8), De Villiers heaped praises on Kohli, saying that the Indian captain is a great guy and he loves playing with him.

"Fantastic. He's (Virat) a great guy and I love playing with him. He's become a great captain and an even better friend. So it's been great. He's always been an inspirational character and we have a few leaders in the team that carry the guys in the tough time. We just want to look ahead and try to get better," De Villiers quoted as saying by PTI.

Talking about his batting form, the Proteas batting genius said, "No I am batting very well. I am very very happy. Rashid got me out previously. We haven't played a lot against each other but he bowled well and he's a very good bowler. I have a lot of respect for him."

As far as this year’s IPL is concerned – the Bangalore-based franchise haven’t performed to their potential. In 10 matches, RCB have managed to register only 3 wins thus far and are currently placed at the seventh spot on the points table.

AB admitted that RCB’s campaign have been a disappointing one, but he is determined to focus on the upcoming games.

"No we haven't played well. It's been very disappointing but four games are left and I would love to not live in the past much and focus on what's coming that is Delhi (against Delhi Daredevils), so we need to win that game and hopefully have a bit of our run by the end of the season," De Villiers concluded.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their next game against the Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday (May 12).
