Sourav Ganguly wants MS Dhoni to mirror his IPL 11 form in international cricket as well, which will ultimately benefit the men in blue. The veteran is in sound form this summer. His form will be key for India in the upcoming series against England. India have to play two T20I matches in Ireland and three T20Is in England followed by three ODIs.

With the 36-year-old's current form, the burden on India's top order because overdependence on them will be shared.

Dhoni has already scored more runs than he added in last season for Rising Pune Supergiants. While Ganguly is happy with the wicket-keeper batsman's current form, he was surprised with Rishabh Pant's omission in the squad announced for India's tour to England.

"Another surprise omission is Rishabh Pant so selectors very rightly been placing their confidence in MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik. Very happy with MS Dhoni's form, probably he's batting his best at the moment. Hope he translates his IPL form in international cricket," Ganguly told India Today.

After Dhoni's innings against RCB, even Virat Kohli was awe-struck and lauded the veteran. "Everyone loves to see MSD striking the ball. It is phenomenal the way he is doing it. The bigger picture is that it is good for Indian cricket. His form is a great sign for Indian cricket," he said.
