Kings XI Punjab crushed Rajasthan Royal by 6 wickets riding on the back of strong performance by KL Rahul. The KXIP opener hit an unbeaten 84 from 54 balls, including 7 fours and 3 sixes, taking his side home with 8 balls to spare while chasing the target of 153.

Rahul, who has represented SRH and RCB in the past, was roped in by the Punjab-based franchise for a whopping price tag of INR 11 crores during IPL auction in January 2018. And the stylish right-hander has managed to justify the worth of his lucrative bid thus far.

Unlike his preceding franchises, KL Rahul is playing at the top of the batting order for KXIP and is currently the leading run-scorer for his team with 376 runs in 9 games at an incredible strike-rate of 162.77.

While Rahul's performances have improved by many folds this season, Mumbai Indians and their captain Rohit Sharma have not experienced the best of times in IPL 2018 thus far. Rohit, who has given up his usual opening slot to Suryakumar Yadav, has managed to amass only 231 runs in 10 innings of this year’s IPL.
