Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians right-hand batsman, and their Captain has come out and expressed that the win over Kolkata Knight Riders yesterday was very important for his team and the franchise.

Prior to the match, Mumbai Indians had to win to stay alive. The must-win feel from the games doesn't end here but getting one away really helps. It prompted Rohit to say that, "It was much needed for us to stay in the competition. I thought it was a great effort from the bowling unit. It wasn't easy for us to come back into the game after how they batted in the first 10 overs. It was always going to be tough but we kept the hunt going and we kept taking wickets which was the crucial part,"

Mumbai needs to win all four of their remaining matches and so, Rohit wants MI to bat better and ensure their net run-rate is very good by posting another 15-20 runs more.

In his post-match press conference, Rohit said, "We still have some work to do with our bat to finish off games. Considering the start we got we should have ended up getting 15-20 runs more. Some work needs to be done there."

"With so much ability with the bat at times it can get difficult as to how I want to use them. We've got three power hitters in the middle and it's important for me to use them really well."

Rohit was still in praise of his team for pulling off an important win. He said, "But I don't want to take any credit away from the boys, we showed a lot of character which was very much needed to come out and perform like that,"
