In the ongoing Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings has been one of the most successful sides. Led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the side has been competing for the place at the top of the points table having won 7 of their 10 games. One of their key players though was not performing till now.

Ravindra Jadeja, the left arm spinner, was retained in the auction by the franchise ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin and had the pressure of turning things around. And so he did, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore yesterday Ravindra Jadeja bowled like he does at his best. Through his dead-eye accuracy and use of the breeze for the drift, Ravindra Jadeja returned with figures of 4 overs for just 18 runs and picked three wickets too. His performance helped CSK beat RCB by 6 wickets and earned him the man of the match.

His former CSK teammate and now the batting consultant for the franchise, Michael Hussey is very happy for Jadeja. After the game, Hussey was quoted saying that, “I thought he bowled beautifully today. I think the skipper has been showing faith in him and that’s been important, giving him the confidence. It’s nice for him to get the rewards today.”

Hussey added, “Being a finger spinner can be tough in Twenty20 cricket, especially with the scores being so big and the batsmen looking to hit mostly fours and sixes.”
