IPL 2018: Match 36, SRH vs DD: DD faces challenge from SRH in a must win game

Delhi is doing well under Iyer's captaincy.

Delhi is on a roll under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are all set to host Delhi Daredevils in an exciting contest at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium. While Sunrisers' performance was an expected one given their potent bowling attack, Delhi's reincarnation has been a beautiful story under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer who has blossomed as Delhi skipper.

A win against the Kolkata Knight Riders was added up with a high-scoring nail-biter against Rajasthan Royals. Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw could not have pleased the team management more with their daredevilry. Iyer has four scores of over fifty in his last five innings, Pant has entertained the crowd with his pyrotechnics and Shaw has looked sublime after grabbing a great opportunity, thanks to Gautam Gambhir sitting out.

Bowling wise, Trent Boult has led the attack beautifully with promising Avesh Khan showing signs of maturity as a fast bowler. Plus they have the likes of Nadeem and Amit Mishra to do the job in the middle overs. Glenn Maxwell's form is the only disappointment Delhi is going through in its recent good phase which they hope will possibly revive in this match.

Sunrisers have proved the worth of their bowling attack by depending 132 and 119 back to back.  They have not even felt the absence of their main weapon Bhuvneshwar Kumar - the one who troubles batsmen with swing, cutters, yorkers, knuckles and more. In the last three games, Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul and Basil Thampi have collective figures of 29.1-0-156-14. An economy rate of 5.36 despite operating in the toughest of times - powerplay and the death overs - speaks volumes of the depth in the team. Add to it a shrewd learner in Rashid Khan, who corrects mistakes quickly.

Batting wise they just have to put the pieces in the right order. The Alex Hales mystery needs to be solved and the Manish Pandey jynx as well. Yusuf Pathan, Shakib form their all-rounders with Saha always there with his contributions. Dhawan's elbow injury has taken away his form and his free-flowing strokeplay which is another major concern in their batting department.

As far as team changes in both camps are concerned, Glenn Maxwell was seen to skip the practice session for  Delhi. While Bhuvi is all set to return in tonight's clash.
