Mumbai Indians’ (MI) star all-rounder Krunal Pandya is satisfied with his performance against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) after finishing off an IPL 2018 game for MI at Holkar Stadium, Indore on Friday (4 May).

He was disappointed to not finish the close game for MI against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 1 May, but he did not want to drop the opportunity against  KXIP.  Coming into bat at  No. 6  he played a much-needed knock of an unbeaten 12-ball 31 to help Mumbai to beat Punjab by 6-wickets in Indore.

As per reports in Hindustan Times, Pandya told reporters at the post-match press conference, “It was a do-or-die situation for us. I couldn’t deliver in the last game (against RCB). I’m happy with my performance. I wanted to stay till the end.”

The all-rounder also praised his skipper Rohit Sharma who contributed 24 off 15 deliveries against the KXIP, saying “We did really well in restricting them to 174. The ground is a bit small and the wicket was nice to bat on, a bit on the slower side. So we were confident of chasing it.”

Pandya signed off by saying, “Rohit’s blows in the 17th and 18th over were the turned it around for us. Our batting is very flexible. Anybody can bat anywhere.”

Now, rejuvenated Mumbai will lock horns against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next IPL 2018 encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (May 6).
