Kolkata Knight Riders’ fast bowler Shivam Mavi got the opportunity to meet the legendary MS Dhoni after his team’s match against the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings on Thursday (May 3) night.
Ecstatic with the interaction, Mavi shared the image of himself with Dhoni on his official Twitter account and captioned it as: “The pieces of advice you gave me after the match are highly appreciated and words can neither qualify nor quantify your guidance and useful advice. Your perseverance, integrity and people-loving nature are just a few of your qualities that continue to inspire me. #Mahibhai♥️”.

After impressing one and all with his pace and accuracy in the triumphant Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, the 19-year-old Mavi is now leaving a mark on the cash-rich event. Although Shivam didn’t pick a wicket last night, he bowled quite economically (3-0-21-0) as KKR restricted CSK to 177 in 20 overs.
Chasing the target, Kolkata rode on Shubman Gill’s 36-ball 57 and Dinesh Karthik’s 18-ball 45 to secure the victory with 6 wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare.
