CSK dominating the first ten overs
As usual, Chennai batsmen provided their team with a very healthy start scoring 90 runs in the first half of their innings. Shane Watson was again seen in an aggressive nature playing heavy shots for his team. He took the aerial route to reach his quick 36 that came in just 25 deliveries.

Chennai's batting has been very pivotal in this season of IPL. They all striking the ball very hard to put huge runs on the board. The way they were batting it looked that the team will easily cross 200 mark, but unfortunately, that did not happen. KKR had been struggling with powerplay woes up front and hadn't picked up a wicket in the first six overs in the last four games.

KKR pulling things back 
Kolkata Knight Riders beautifully shifted their gears to restrict the Super Kings of Chennai to put a heavy total on the board. The host came back in strongly after getting hit massively in the first 10 overs of the game. The team only conceded 87 runs in the last half of the first innings. Dinesh Karthik, the skipper of Kolkata was intelligent enough to rotate his bowlers. He used his trio spinners handsomely in the last few overs of their batting. 

For Chennai Super Kings, it was only Ms.Dhoni again who played a crucial cameo at the end of the innings, taking his team to a competitive score 177. He was unbeaten on 43 runs.

Sunil Narine's all round performance 
The Carribean player had a wonderful match where he took 2 important wickets with also hammering runs on the board. He has surely developed himself into a batsman, striking the ball out of the park. The latter made a quick 32 to set the temperament of the game. 

He was also dropped two times by the most excellent fielder in Chennai's dugout Ravindra Jadeja in the very first over of KM Asif. Maybe dropping Narine two consecutive times was the reason behind Chennai's lose.

Shubman Gill anchoring the KKR chase
The young 18-year old cricketer, Shubman Gill was promoted up in the order replacing Nitish Rana at number 4. He even scored his maiden IPL half-century for Kolkata Knight Riders. He anchored his innings with 57 runs picking up loose deliveries to the boundaries. The latter was exceptional to watch, this innings must have given him the confidence to play big innings.

Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, played his captain role after wrapping up things quickly with his fiery knock of 45 runs that came in just 18 deliveries. The wicket-keeper batsman has been in some serious form from the Nidahas trophy when he hit that last ball six to clinch the victory in the final match against Bangladesh. 

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Chennai Super Kings

Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 6 wickets to beat Chennai Super Kings. With this win, they have moved up in the points table leaving behind Kings XI with 10 points. They will try to keep up the momentum going whereas Chennai Super Kings will try to fix their death bowling issues as they were taken to the cleaners towards the end of the game.

Now Kolkata will have to face Mumbai Indians in their next encounter to be in the race of the qualifiers.
