Prithvi Shaw is in limelight after his eye-catching innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. The India U-19 skipper has once again played a terrific inning which got praised by the former greats.

He scored a 25-ball 47 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) which helped Delhi Daredevils (DD) to win the game by a margin of just 4 runs. The former Australian international cricketer Mark Waugh praised the youngster for his batting and said he reminds him of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

"The first thing you notice is his technique, it’s very similar to Sachin Tendulkar," he said.

Waugh added that his grip, stance and the way he stays still at the crease reminds him of the owner of 100 international hundreds.

"His grip, his stance, he stays very still at the crease and plays all his shots around the wicket. He plays the ball quite late and is quite punchy in his strokeplay and has an excellent base to play any shot from any bowler. He’s just so much like Sachin Tendulkar," Waugh added during a show on Star Sports.

Shaw was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL auction for Rs 1.2 crores. He is the youngest player to open the batting in the IPL history at the age of 18 and 165 days while playing for DD during their match against Kings XI Punjab.
