Australian Test great Mark Waugh has noted a valid point about the poor run of the Virat-Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing IPL 2018, saying the inability of the bowlers to deliver has cost RCB to lose important matches this season.

Having won three out of the eight games that they have played so far in the tournament, RCB is currently standing at the fifth spot in the IPL 2018 points table.

RCB, who were runners-up in 2009, 2011 and 2016 editions of the IPL, is terribly struggling in the ongoing season and still have not chance of making it to the IPL 2018 playoffs, as the half matches of the 2018 season have already rolled over, and they haven’t beat any top team so far in the tournament.

Waugh believes that the RCB bowlers’ poor show and failure to find the right set of bowling combination in the death overs cost their chances of winning the IPL 2018 this time as well.

As per reports in PTI, Waugh, a Star Sports Select Dugout expert, said, “Death bowling is a major area of concern for RCB currently as their bowlers are too expensive towards the end.”

Waugh signed off by noting, “They have had chances to win games but they just can't find the right set of combination in the last couple of overs which is affecting the team's results.”

RCB pacer Umesh Yadav has earned an unwanted record this season, as he conceded 59 runs in 4 overs against Rajasthan Royals which is the most by any bowler so far in the IPL 2018.
