According to a report, Australian fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are under the scanner for missing the ongoing Indian Premier League 2018. Both quick bowlers pulled back from the IPL owing to injuries because of the very heavy workload playing for Australia.

Cricket Australia had communicated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about their injuries and the board conveyed the message regarding the injuries to their respective franchises – Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. KKR purchased Mitchell Starc and MI got Pat Cummins, in the auctions.

One franchise official was quoted saying that, “We’ve to believe what they say. We have no way to check the veracity. At this stage, we’re in the midst of the league. So, no time to think about them. But we’ll take it up,”

CA spokesman was also quoted saying about the matter. He said, “Starc was ruled out of the fourth Test against South Africa because of tibial bone stress, which has prevented him from going to IPL. Cummins experienced some back soreness during the fourth Test in South Africa. Follow-up scans have confirmed that he has bone oedema in his vertebrae. It is important that Pat has time off bowling, to prevent the injury becoming more serious and consequently we have made the decision to rule Pat out of the IPL.”
