Royal Challengers Bangalore are hosting the Mumbai Indians in the 31st match of IPL 2018 at the iconic M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday (May 1) night. It is a must-win game for both the teams and MI responded with a brilliant display of bowling.

After being put into bat by MI skipper Rohit Sharma, RCB started their innings cautiously before Manan Vohra cut loose in the 4th over by smashing JP Duminy for 22 runs. The 20-year-old leggie Mayank Markande pulled things back for MI by dismissing Vohra in the 9th over.

When RCB were in a spot of bother at 61/2, Brendon McCullum (37 runs off 25 balls) and skipper Virat Kohli (32 runs off 26 balls) took the centre stage and added a 60-run stand for the third wicket. However, soon after McCullum’s dismissal, RCB lost the plot.

Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowler for MI as his 3 for 28 played a massive role in restricting RCB to a below par score. However, Colin de Grandhomme scored 21 runs in the last 3 balls of the match off McClenaghan, to take RCB to 167/7.

Like always, the Twitterverse was buzzing during the IPL match. Here are some of the top tweets hailing MI’s stellar show with the ball:
