IPL 2018: "I should be an asset to any team that I play for", says Vijay Shankar

Shankar played a very good innings of 54 from just 31 balls for Delhi last night.

Vijay Shankar of Delhi Daredevils

Vijay Shankar, the Tamil Nadu, and Delhi Daredevils all-rounder, stated that he wants to excel whenever he is being given the opportunity to play and that he "should be an asset to any team that I play for"

Shankar got a terrific innings of 54 from just 31 balls filled with 5 huge sixes. Unfortunately, his knock was not good enough for Delhi Daredevils to win, in a run-chase 212 against the Chennai Super Kings.

Speaking about his game and playing for DD. Vijay Shankar was quoted saying, "I should be an asset to any team that I play for. Being part of this team is very special because they are giving us all the freedom; they're definitely building a very good team. For me personally, it might have put me down for a while, but I think after the first few days of that, I came out of it. It is something that will affect you few days but after that, you have to come out of it, that is how cricket is."

"As a cricketer, it is very very important to keep moving forward, We can't think about that and not prepare for what lies ahead for us. Even for me, I wouldn't have got enough time in the middle, but what I focused on was do my preparation right, so that when the time comes I should be able to go and deliver what I have. I never thought about what I am doing, whether I am performing or not. What is more important to me is how much I contribute"
