Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Delhi Daredevils (DD) in their own den of Pune. Thanks to the all-rounder Shane Watson, who thrashed the opponents with his quick 40-ball 78. It included 4 fours and 7 sixes which gave CSK a good platform to capitalize.

Utilizing the chance he got on the first ball of the game, Watson said it helped him build the confidence. "I wanted to help the team in the previous games but to be able to play this innings against DD is a good confidence builder.

"I was targeting the short side of the ground and wind was also blowing in that direction. It was good to get a few out of the middle," he said.

Watson survived an LBW call after DD skipper Shreyas Iyer took a DRS. Iyer thinks the ball had hit the pad first and it was out. "The way Watson started it totally changed the game. Not only me, the whole dressing room and obviously you also think the same - that ball hit the pad first and then the bat," he said.

After a brilliant partnership by the openers, MS Dhoni, CSK skipper capitalized on the start and scored a 22-ball fifty to finish the innings on a score of 211.

Dhoni smashed the death bowlers, including Trent Boult. Lauding the captaincy's innings, Watson said that CSK captain is hitting the ball really nicely. "Trent Boult is a world class bowler and MS hit him really well. He is hitting the ball incredibly, as well as he has ever hit," Watson said.
