Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils clashed in an interesting match at the MCA stadium in Pune. While CSK was coming off a loss to MI; DD was coming after thrashing KKR at home.

Delhi won the toss and Iyer invited CSK to bat first. DD went in unchanged, while CSK made four changes. In came Du Plessis, Karn Sharma, KM Asif and Lungi Ngidi.

CSK opened with Watson and Du Plessis and the duo added 102 runs in 11 overs before Du Plessis got out for 33 off 33 balls. Watson was looking good for a century but was caught off a mishit for 78 in 40 balls with 7 sixes and 4 fours. Suresh Raina was bowled for 1 by Maxwell. DD might have thought that they had CSK below 200 when that happened.

However, then came a hurricane as Ambati Rayudu (41 in 24 with 5 fours and 1 six) and MS Dhoni (51* in 22 balls; 2x4s, 5x6s) added 79 runs in just 6 overs. Even Trent Boult went for 21 runs in an over, as Dhoni hit him for two sixes and one four.

CSK ended up making 211/4 in 20 overs. Boult went for 48 runs in 4 overs, Plunkett went for 52 in 3 overs and Mishra, Maxwell and Shankar were the wicket-takers for DD.
