Mumbai Indians (MI) have a lot of issues to sort out before facing the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Pune on Saturday. MI, who are currently at the bottom of the points table, have suffered a lot because of their batting woes.

Former India cricketer, Sanjay Manjrekar thinks Mumbai need a shuffle in their batting order to succeed in the remaining part of the tournament. MI can't afford any more defeats from here to ensure their berth in the IPL 2018 play-offs. They have won only one game in last 6 matches they played.

IPL commentator Manjrekar, talking to PTI, said that all-rounder Hardik Pandya needs to bat a little up in the batting order. “Hardik Pandya has to bat up the order. There is too much obsession with having left and right-hand combination, thereby Hardik is batting at number seven in the last 3-4 games. He could be your number 4-5, so there could be more onus on Hardik as a batsman,” Manjrekar told PTI.

He also added that skipper Rohit Sharma needs to open along with West Indies batsman Elvin Lewis. “They have got Evin Lewis who is opening and they have tried a few other options, but I have not understood their batting order. There is no harm at all in having Rohit Sharma. I thought he would open in the last match as it makes a lot of sense,” said Manjrekar.

MI have 8 more matches to play. They will need 7 more wins to book a birth in the top 4. The journey seems a bit difficult for the Rohit-led side, but they have done it in the past and that is what makes their fans to believe in them.
