Delhi Daredevils succumbed under pressure against Kings XI Punjab to lose an enticing contest by 4 runs. In the process, they are now at the bottom of the points table with 5 losses, the most by any team.

Delhi managed to restrict Punjab at an under par score of 143. Liam Plunkett playing his first match for Delhi picked up 3 for 17, as Boult and Avesh Khan took two each.

For Punjab, no one really scored big as Chris Gayle was benched for this game with a knee niggle. KL Rahul went early in the piece after getting a start for 23, as the middle order huffed and puffed to reach 143 at the end of their 20 overs.

Delhi had the upper hand in the chase when they started, however, they also lost regular wickets only leave the lower middle order asking to much to be done on the final five. Shreyas Iyer (57) formed an important partnership with Rahul Tewatia (24) of 47 runs after Delhi was 76 for 5 after 12 overs.

Tewatia's wicket turned the match around for Punjab as Iyer found it difficult to score the runs alone in the end. With 17 needed from the final over for Delhi to win, they felt short by 4 runs to lose yet another closely contested game.

Punjab, on the other hand, has now won 5 and is back to the top of the table. Twitterverse enjoyed the pendulum swing in the match and while they moaned over Delhi's loss, they also congratulated Punjab for holding onto their nerves to rip out a win.
