Karnataka all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham was the hero for Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday (22 April) night, as he finished off a nail-biting IPL 2018 match for the hosts against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

The Royals almost lost the thrilling encounter to Mumbai in Jaipur, but it was Gowtham, who did magic for RR, hammering 33 off 11 deliveries, including 4 boundaries and 2 sixes –one of which came in the most crucial situation when the hosts needed 6 runs in 3 balls, eventually guiding the hosts to a 3-wicket win over the defending champions.

After guiding RR to an IPL 2018 match win in a high-pressure game with his heroic with the willow, the 29-year-old is on “top of the world” that shows how he was brilliant in the First-class game this season.

As per reports in India Today, Gowtham said after the match over MI, “On top of the world, had a decent first-class season with the bat. My captain said 'believe', and that's what I did.”

During the last over, the right-hander has seen nerves as he turned down a single to keep the strike, but he denied it. Gowtham signed off by saying, “No nerves on turning the single down. Just needed six off three balls, one good hit, that's all I was thinking.”

Now, Ajinkya Rahane led Royals will next lock horns against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 29.
