Mumbai Indians lost yet another contest in the last over of the match, this time against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Mumbai Indians have now lost four out of five matches played and, on the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have now won three out of six matches in IPL 2018.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bat first. Opener Evin Lewis departed in the first over of innings without scoring any run, but Suryakumar Yadav (72) and Ishan Kishan (58) added 129 runs for the second wicket and brought MI back in the game.
In the end, overs MI couldn't finish well and scored only 39 runs in the last 6 overs and ended on 167/7 in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals also didn't start well as both the openers went cheaply, Sanju Samson (52) and Ben Stokes (40) set the platform for the middle order but RR lost 3 wickets for no run in the end and at one stage they needed 38 runs off 14 balls with 3 wickets in hand but Krishnappa Gowtham's 33* runs off 11 balls helped to get the team over the line.
