Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 runs in a high scoring thrilling match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad and registered their fourth win of this IPL season and Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their second successive loss.

SRH asked CSK to bat first and CSK lost both the openers cheaply and at one stage they were 37/2 in 8 overs, but Ambati Rayudu's 79 runs off 37 balls and Suresh Raina's 54* off 43 balls helped CSK post a huge total of 182/3  in 20 overs.

In the chase, SRH also started poorly with the bat and lost three wickets in the powerplay, captain Kane Williamson 84 runs off 51 balls and Yusuf Pathan 45 runs off 27 balls brought SRH back in the game, but in the end team fell short of four runs.
