Sunrisers Hyderabad was looking forward to a brilliant IPL 2018, after a good season in 2017, where they finished up 3rd on the points table and made it to the playoffs under the captaincy of Australia’s David Warner.

However, the ball tampering scandal in South Africa caused BCCI and IPL GC to suspend David Warner, along with Steve Smith from playing in IPL 2018. This meant that the 2016 IPL winners SRH were without their captain for the 2018 season. SRH chose to make Kane Williamson their captain and so far, he has led them to 3 wins from 4 matches.

David Warner was seen cheering the team on social media during a press meet, as he commented on their Instagram live session. Apparently, Warner was also supposed to come to India and support his team from close quarters.

However, it has been learned that the BCCI refused to grant permission to Warner to attend the IPL 2018 matches of SRH. He will be back for the team in IPL 2019 though.
