IPL 2018 Match 18, KKR vs KXIP: KKR look to stop Gaylestorm at home

KKR play KXIP in a day game at Eden today.

A match up between two Tamil Nadu teammates.

KKR who are on a good winning run will look to stop Chris Gayle from going great guns when Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Kings XI Punjab tonight at Eden Gardens.

Chris Gayle has been in tremendous form for KXIP and is already in the list of top run-getters for the season. Ashwin, on the other hand, has been marshaling his troops very well. The likes of Tye, Sran and Mohit Sharma has been good with the ball coupled with the mystery of Mujeeb. An inform Gayle with the most satisfying thing when KXIP take the field tonight.

KKR will be wary of the threat that Gayle brings with him. They will have their strategies in place to stop him from scoring. KKR as a team looks good on the back of their wins against Delhi and Rajasthan and will be looking to keep the momentum tonight as well.

Chris Lynn's form with the bat will be a concern for KKR coming into this game. The middle order looks good with Uthappa, Rana and Karthik, while the bowling is led by the three spinners.

As far as team news from both camps are concerned, KKR will most probably go with the same XI as they played in the last game as they don't want to tinker with the winning combination.

As far as playing conditions for the game is concerned, chances of rain are 40 percent. Since it is an afternoon start, it's going to be extremely hot and humid till the sun goes down. Players, without a doubt, will be tested in the tough conditions.
